Butterfield’s Rocket Race

We’d like to extend our thanks to amateur jockey Arron Butterfield, based with Colin Tizzard, who completed a 10k, 25 obstacle race in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund. He raised a fantastic £650 and finished the race in 1hr and 21 minutes!!

He attended Oaksey House today to present Lady Oaksey with the final sum for the IJF. However it is not the first time Arron has paid a visit! When Arron was 9 years old Nick Scholfield gave him a pair of his breeches. John Francome kindly took them into weighing room at Wincanton where a number of jockeys signed them. Rather than keeping them, he decided it would be a good idea to have them framed auctioned off at a meeting to raise funds for the IJF!
