🏇 Wheelchair Challenge at Kelso Racecourse 🏇
On Sunday, 6th October 2024, an exciting Wheelchair Challenge will take place at Kelso Racecourse, organised to raise funds for the Injured Jockeys Fund in support of Graham Lee and the MS Society Borders Branch. The challenge will occur before the day’s racing, and promises to be a memorable and competitive event.
Jockeys, trainers, valets, and other well-known racing personalities will form teams to tackle a wheelchair obstacle course in the paddock. Each team will consist of one person in a wheelchair and one pushing the chair, as they navigate a series of everyday challenges that wheelchair users face. The course will be timed, with penalties for mistakes, and the fastest team will be crowned the winner.
Preceding the event, on Saturday, 5th October, there will be a Dinner and Auction at Kelso Racecourse. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on the participating teams, with all proceeds going to these important causes. The evening will also feature Kim Bailey as the special guest speaker.
Organisers are seeking sponsorship for the event and are inviting supporters to get involved to help make this fundraiser a success. Anyone interested in sponsoring or contributing is encouraged to reach out.
